FoodLakayNJ is a place to celebrate Haitian food and support the people who make it. These Guidelines apply to every post, comment, review, photo, video, profile, and business listing on the platform.

Be respectful

• Speak to others the way you'd want to be spoken to in your own kitchen.
• No harassment, bullying, hate speech, slurs, or threats — including in Kreyòl, French, English, or any language.
• No content that targets people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

Be honest

• Reviews must reflect your real experience. No fake, paid, or incentivized reviews.
• Don't post reviews of your own business, your competitors, or businesses where you have a personal conflict of interest.
• Don't impersonate other people or businesses.

Keep it relevant

• Posts should relate to Haitian food, Haitian-owned food businesses in NJ, or the FoodLakayNJ community.
• No off-topic spam, repetitive promotions, or unrelated links.

Keep it legal and safe

• No illegal content, weapons sales, drug sales, or anything that exploits minors.
• No nudity, sexually explicit content, or graphic violence.
• No private information about others (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) without permission.

Respect intellectual property

• Only post photos and videos you have the rights to share.
• Don't repost others' content without credit and permission.

How moderation works

We use a mix of automated and human moderation. Text-only reviews generally publish immediately. Posts that include photos, videos, or other media — as well as profile photos and new comments containing media — may be reviewed before they appear. Business submissions and claims are reviewed before listings go live.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on severity and history, we may:

• Remove the content.
• Issue a warning.
• Temporarily suspend your ability to post, comment, like, or follow.
• Permanently ban your account.
• Remove or delist a business listing.
